What is AI?

"Artificial intelligence is a machine’s ability to perform the cognitive functions we usually associate with human minds."

"AI is a machine’s ability to perform the cognitive functions we associate with human minds, such as perceiving, reasoning, learning, interacting with an environment, problem solving, and even exercising creativity. You’ve probably interacted with AI even if you didn’t realize it—voice assistants like Siri and Alexa are founded on AI technology, as are some customer service chatbots that pop up to help you navigate websites"(McKinsey & Company, 2023).

Chat GPT: What's the big deal?

" ChatGPT is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot. The language model can answer questions and assist you with tasks, such as composing emails, essays, and code. It was launched November 30, 2022". (https://www.zdnet.com)

There are debates going on as to whether ChatGTP will negatively affect education and teaching. Does it give false information? Is it citable? How do you know if it's plagiarized information? Teachers are finding inventive and creative ways to use ChatGTP in the classroom.
