Bennett Library: Borrowing

Borrowing

Borrowing from Bennett Library

Patrons of Bennett Library may check out most materials ie. books, DVD's. Our DVD collection is subject oriented towards the programs taught here at LRCC and used for the most part by Faculty. However students may check out a DVD for one day, and watch it anywhere on campus. It is not allowed to leave the campus. It must be returned the same day.

The Reserves are a collection containing some, but not all textbook and class materials required by your instructor. They are for use in the library unless permission is give by Librarian or Instructor to use overnight. If we do not have a reserve item that you need, you may ask your instructor if they have a copy that can be put on reserve.

The lending period for materials is:

Books: 3 weeks (may be renewed once if no one else wants it.)

Overdues:

Bennett Library does not charge daily fines for overdue materials however over due items are checked weekly.

Week one: The patron will receive a phone call or e-mail

Week two: A notice will be mailed to you stating that the item is overdue.

Week three: A letter stating that a banner hold will be put on your account if you do not return the material(s)

Week four:  A banner hold will be placed on your account with the business office and a letter will be sent to you. You will not be able to register for classes or look at your transcripts etc. until the item is satisfactorily returned or replaced at the librarians discretion.

Interlibrary Loans are available for books, magazine/journal/newspaper articles, reports or other titles that we do not own. Please contact Library Staff with your request(s) as soon as possible to make sure that the materials can be received when you need them as delivery time can vary greatly.
